A Model for a Model: Pressure Jackets on Nude Mice with Implants of Hypertrophic Scars
نویسندگان
چکیده
The hypertrophic scar, a consequence of deep surface 1nJury, is peculiar to humankind. Subcutaneous implants of these tissues in nude mice provide a quasi animal model for experimental use. An efficacious treatment to promote acceleration of maturation of the hypertrophic scar is controlled topical pressure produced by flexible dacron fabric wraps. Implants in the nude mouse provide a model for study of the effects of pressure. Preliminary results indicate that those implants in nude mice, responding favorably to pressure jackets, show changes consistent with those previously obtained in human studies. The collagen matrix shows re~uced density and parallel layering of collagen fascicles. Fibroblast cells, endothelial cells and pericytes show degenerative changes attributed to the effects of pressure treatment. Thus, pressure jackets properly applied to nude mice over hypertrophic scar implants constitute a model for the study of the effects of pressure therapy on the model of implants in the nude mice for the study of the dynamics of the hypertrophic scar .

Effect of P1441 (Anti-TGF-β) in an “In Vivo” Human Hypertrophic Scar Model in Nude Mice
Hypertrophic scars are one of the most important complications in surgery due to their cosmetic and functional impairments. Previous studies in tissue fibrotic disorders have shown promising results by inhibiting the biological activity effect of Transforming Growth Factorbeta 1 (TGF-β1). The aim of the current study was to determine the clinical effect of the inhibition of TGF-β1 signaling in ...

The ability to maintain and study human tissues in in-vivo environment has proved to be a valuable tool in breast cancer research for several decades. The most widely tissues have been xenografts established human breast cancer cell lines into athymic nude mice. The aim of this study was to provide a new accurate and affordable method for the establishment of breast cancer xenograftin nude mice...
متن کاملComparison of the therapeutic effect of microneedling with carbon dioxide laser in hypertrophic burn scars: a randomized clinical trial
Background: Microneedling is recently used to treat skin scars mostly atrophic scars; however, there are limited data about its effectiveness on hypertrophic burn scars. Carbon dioxide (CO2) laser is an effective method for the treatment of burn scars. Here, we aim to compare the efficacy of microneedling to CO2 laser in the treatment of hypertrophic burn scars in a randomized clinical trial. M...

The available treatment modalities for hypertrophic scars and keloids have very little success. Surgical treatment of these lesions without adjuvant therapy is also associated with high recurrence rate. Hypertrophic scars and keloids are the results of a series of cellular and molecular changes which their identification can guide us toward new treatment modalities which may decrease the ...
